Full Journal pdf2009-04-13 House Journal Page 0932 HJR 25 The following was read the second time: HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 25 Urging the United States Congress to classify hydroelectric power as a renewable and alternative energy source. with the: Journal Page ENE RPT CS(ENE) 5DP 580 FN1: ZERO(H.ENE) 580 RES RPT CS(ENE) 6DP 1NR 1AM 834 FN1: ZERO(H.ENE) 834 Representative Johansen moved and asked unanimous consent that the following committee substitute be adopted in lieu of the original resolution: CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 25(ENE) (same title) There being no objection, it was so ordered. 2009-04-13 House Journal Page 0933 Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representatives Thomas and Gara: Page 2, line 10, following "source;": Insert "and WHEREAS regions of the United States outside of Alaska have limited water supplies or water shortages that could lead to classifying hydroelectric power as nonrenewable, but many areas of Alaska have ample water supplies that are capable of providing a renewable energy source for hydroelectric projects in the state;" Page 2, line 12, following "hydroelectric power": Insert "where it has no material negative impact on fish populations," Representative Thomas moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Stoltze objected. Representative Stoltze moved and asked unanimous consent that the question be divided. The Speaker ruled that the question was divisible. There being no objection, Amendment No. 1 was divided. Amendment No. 1, Part B: Page 2, line 12, following "hydroelectric power": Insert "where it has no material negative impact on fish populations," Amendment to Amendment No. 1, Part B was offered by Representative Crawford: Delete "material" Insert "substantial" Representative Crawford moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment to Amendment No. 1, Part B be adopted. Representative Johnson objected and withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, Amendment to Amendment No. 1, Part B was adopted. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1, Part B as amended be adopted?"
